Still feel buried under work here- not only work, but also snow and ice, and about 150 boxes of books and catalogs. I haven't had much of a chance to do much blogging this week, or visit many of your blogs- sorry about that. I'll crawl out from under soon.
In the meantime, it's Saturday night, and Amy and I are going out to a friend's birthday which turned, somehow, into a Star Trek birthday. It was all a joke at first, but you have to be careful about jokes or they can become real, and now we're all going dressed as Star Trek characters- I'll be Commander William Rikker from "The Next Generation. This should be interesting (and it'll be even more interesting if everyone else wimps out and we're the only ones there in costume...)
And since it's Saturday night, it's time for some music! Here's one of my favorites from Patty Loveless, in honor of Valentine's Day...

The party sounds like it will be a hoot (or an uncomfortable embarrassment). Hope you guys have a good time.
Costume parties can be lots of fun as long as everybody is in the right mood.
I don't think there is any country music is Space
Phasers to stunning! Hope you have a great time.
UPDATE: The party was a blast- almost everyone was in some sort of Trekky-type costume, and we even had Mr. Spock and a Romulan Commander show up. And somebody brought Tribble...
To put this in perspective, these people are mostly middle-aged college academics, writers, photographers, etc., not you usual Trekky geeks. Or maybe they are... Mr. Spock is the sports editor of a local paper and a fellow NASCAR fan. It was definitely a one-of-a kind party.
Arrrrghhhh, I am blind...my face is paralyzed....helllllllp, country music...must reach for the stop button....I...Can't....Reach....It.....*thud*
First of all, I am in love with Patty Loveless and always have been, so please keep your hands off of her.
Secondly, glad you had a good time at the party and especially glad that you weren't the only ones dressed up as Star Trek characters.
You should have gone as Riker's evil twin.
Too bad othr fokes showd up in costume.
If they hadnt, you couda said, "Well, if you fokes aint gonna wear costumes, weere gonna take ours off!"
THEN you couda showd em a thing or two!
So glad the party was a good one!
I enjoyed your music!
Sounds like a lot was asked of the lycra that night. What fun!
Man, I would be like a fish out of water at a star trek party since I've never seen star trek. I would just be flopping around on the floor with my eyes bugging out.
