Darwinism-
So, just about now Jena Bush is getting hitched in Crawford, Texas, in front of Papa Bush and about 200 of their closest campaign contributors, oil-company lobbyists and NeoCons. Turns out that the lucky guy who snagged Jenna is a former Karl Rove assistant. Now there's a pair I'll be just soooo glad to see reproduce...

Adding insult to injury I heard on NPR today that Jenna's stud comes from a rich tobacco family. If only one of those Texas sinkholes would very quickly open up while all gathered were over the hole.

I'm hoping that W is a huge aberration and the rest of the Bush clan will be more like the elder Bush. Not great, not terrible, but not dumb enough to get us stuck in Iraq for what will almost certainly be a decade or so.
Do they give Darwin Awards to whole countries? Because it's entirely possible that electing W twice will qualify us.

Unfortunately Darwinism doesn't require that organisms (necessarily) become smarter; only that they survive long enough to reproduce the next generation.
And when dumbness seems to be a political advantage, then that just gets selected for.
Unfortunately, Anaglyph is 100% right. We settle for less and less every election year. We call all things mediocre great. We get what we deserve. Oh well, at least Paris Hilton probably won't be president in my lifetime.
