They do have spirit don't they! Afraid that Venice's time is running out, unless they can figure out some sort of super technology. They are build on a swamp and most structures are on foundations of ancient pillars of wood. Damn shame. I watched one show where they are considering putting themselves in a "bowl" like situation, but then they would only be in the same spot as New Orleans. One bad storm and you got one big ass flood with no where to go.
Keeping pouring the wine guys, you have some decision making to do!
Oh, P.S., Obama is coming through my town today to pick up Biden by train. I did a Goodbye to Joe post. You might like it, since you have been such a supporter and a history guy.

MI- The Italians are building big water wings in the bay, not that it will probably help much in the end. I'd better get there quick.
When I first moved into this house we had water problems in the basement. I seriously considered buying a gondola and offering tours.
I finally got the problem more or less fixed so maybe I should offer help to the fine people of Venice.
Somebody send me a plane ticket.
All they need are flippers and a snorkle each and they'll be fine
I imagine they'll order a steamboat for mains, and the ice-cream float for dessert...
Where's the Pope? He could stop this!
