And Now for Something Completely Different...

Morality test:

With all your honor and dignity what would you do?

This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

You're in Florida...In Miami, to be exact... There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a CNN photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.

You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destroying power and is ripping everything away with it.

Suddenly you see a man in the water, he is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer.

Somehow the man looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is - it's George W. Bush!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him away, forever.

You have two options. You can save him or you can take the best photo of your life.

So you can save the life of George W. Bush, or you can shoot a Pulitzer prize winning photo, a unique photo displaying the death of one of the world's most powerful men.

And here's the question (please give an honest answer):

Would you select color film, or rather go with the simplicity of classic black and white?

Color, I love the mixing pot and don't like to seperate black and white

It's good to contemplate these moral questions on a Sunday morn. I'm voting for color.

I would have to go for color film because when it comes to seeing George washed away forever, there are no shades of gray.

Color.

Who woud undrstand bettr than GWB if anothr prson o color is left to die in such a disastr?

Black & white for me. Timeless.

We're in a pickle here about K.Rudd saluting GWB. We don't like it. Given his last visit to the US (got drunk, went to a strip club) it seems when our Dear Leader is overseas, he always ends up saluting Bush.

I once went to a strip club, saw bush, and ended up salutin.

Dayum! Joey, did Cissy and you arrange that one ahead of time because that was one beautiful set-up!

ALL: OK, color is ahead by a nose... Cissy and Joey have the advantage of double-teaming a good joke... my own preference is b/w, because that is what my FB (Flaming Babe) printed when she was a b/w custom high-end professional printer. You cannot beat good b/w photography, if the lighting is good. Good lighting is the important thing. That is what I have learned. As for the rest of it, argue on!!!

Yeah, I can hardly take a bow. Helen Kellr wouda hit that one outta th park.

(Thanks, Ciss!)

Joey- but ya gotta step up to the plate and take a swing!

Nice swing!

I'd save the film and shoot a picture of a donkey.

I'd go for colour. How else are you going to get the proper shading of fear?

I can't say because I'm scared by your cat.

Black and white, of course.

Color. No one flushes red like that man.

I'd seen the intercom commercial before (and it makes me laugh EVERY time) but the cordless drill ad was new to me. Too funny...

Color? Black and White? Bullshit.
I am holding him under water till he is gone.

His lifeless corpse floating in the floodwaters will be a better photo and I might just get free drinks for finishing him off

If I'm a CNN photographer, I'm in a Humvee with a hood mounted video camera. I would video tape myself driving the Humvee as fast as possible into Dubya's floating body.

Tough one, normally watching a human life be washed away would instinctively, at least I hope, cause me to act to save a life. But in W's case I would probably miss the shot since I would be laughing my ass off so color or black and white would be beside the point.

Love the new masthead photo.

Black and white. I don't want that picture to ever fade from my mind.

I'd throw in Blair and Brown first. Now that would be a great pic. All three gone in one.

i would get a stick and push him down in the water farther

Color. You can always print in black and white if you want that old school noir feel. We are a heartless bunch aren't we. But you did say honest, and I really want a Pulitzer.
