How Can We Miss Her if She Won't Go Away?

There's a good op-ed piece by Maureen Dowd on the subject in this morning's New York Times-

"He thought a little thing like winning would stop her?

Oh, Bambi.

Whoever said that after denial comes acceptance hadn’t met the Clintons. If Hillary could not have an acceptance speech, she wasn’t going to have acceptance.

“It’s never going to end,” sighed one Democrat who has been advising Hillary. “We’re just moving to a new phase.”

Barry has been trying to shake off Hillary and pivot for quite a long time now, but she has managed to keep her teeth in his ankle and raise serious doubts about his potency." [read more]

I got to the point a few months ago where it stopped being funny and started being sad.

I thought Obama was rather classy last night and extended a hand to Hillary and she didn't do the same. Which kinda shocked me. (Well maybe it shouldn't have.) I voted for her in the primary, but ours was early and I knew more about her then than I did about Obama, over the months, I started turning the other way towards his camp. Mrs. Chili is right, it went from funny or amusing to down and out sad, even pitiful and she sealed that sentiment last night for sure.

I'm somewhat confused as to why she didn't concede last night. Maybe she just wanted to wrap a few things up first, but I don't get it.
Of course, I did think it was somewhat classless on the part of the superdelegates to come out before the poll results were in and finally make a decision. Let SD and MT have their day, you know?

Mrs. Chili: And infuriating.

MI: I was surprised at her as well.

Angryman: One theory being floated about is that she's trying to pressure Obama into publicly offering her the Veep spot. Not that she wants it- she apparently doesn't, for all sorts of reasons, but she wants him to offer it to her, so she can turn it down.

I feel like I'm living in Renaissance Italy all of a sudden. Which Borgia would she be?

Not that she had a great reputation before, but whatever reputation she had is shot right square in the big old ass right now.

Oh well, at least when she does finally go, we can pretty much be certain she will be gone for good.

I knew she wouldn't concede last night. She's looking for any reason to take this to the convention. Obama's been treating her with kid gloves ever since IN/NC ended. Instead of appreciating that and using the last month to plan a graceful exit, she just kept attacking and roiling her supporters.

But I'm not worried about her getting onto the ticket as VP for one reason - anonymous donors to the Clinton Foundation and Library. No way is Obama going to have her on the ticket without that disclosure, and no way are they going to disclose. End of story.

And Mike - Gone for good? Sure, right. That's what they said about Jason and Freddie and the guy from Halloween. Gone for good. Until the 15 sequels come!

Well, she pretty much endorsed him today, so I guess this is not a big deal. Also, I learned that some other prominent Democrats didn't endorse their rivals until the convention, so I'm not concerned about it at this point, nor do I care.

Evidently Bill doesn't miss her, he's got Gina Gershawn to keep him company

Fantastic. You guys finally look like you're getting out from under the shadow of an idiotic repressive government and into one that's going to spend all its efforts tearing itself apart.

So that all the Republicans can say with conviction: "See we TOLD you that's what would happen if you let a woman or a black man in power".
